For the façade, we even brought in ‘sthapathis’, traditional artisans known for their temple work, to create intricate details that beautifully complement the Roman-inspired look. And, as part of our family tradition, we named the project Radhe Shyam.

What types of homes does Radhe Shyam offer, & how do they suit modern lifestyles?

At Radhe Shyam, the moment you walk in, you’re greeted by a four-foot-wide, eight-foot-high main door, taller than the market’s usual seven feet, which instantly gives a sense of grandeur. We’ve used structural aluminium for the windows for durability, and large-format tiles with Italian marble– inspired designs in the living and dining areas to bring in a touch of richness.

The room doors are finished with polished veneer, bathrooms come with coloured German fittings, and the kitchens are spacious, well-finished, and with an attached service room for everyday chores.

Outside the apartments, we have 10 varieties of flowering plants. Security is covered with CCTV all around and video door phones in each unit. There are servant quarters, and the terrace is a proper leisure space with a gym, a children’s play area and a gazebo. It’s also a great venue for community gatherings and
private celebrations.

For Radhe Shyam, we made sure all approvals from CMDA, Chennai Corporation, and RERA were in place before we even began. We carried out thorough soil and water testing, structural assessments, and stage-by-stage inspections by our architects and engineers.

Radhe Shyam is in the central business district of Chennai, in T. Nagar, which is one of the most favoured locations in the city. It’s a rich and vibrant area with everything close at hand.

Usman Road, the largest gold market in the country, is nearby, as is Pondy Bazaar, one of the oldest commercial hubs in South India. It’s the area where once many well known cinema actors once lived.

Accessing public transport is no hassle at Radhe Shyam. The metro is less than 500 metres away, the local train station is under a kilometer, and the nearest bus stop is also within 500 metres.

We are surrounded by excellent educational institutions like Padma Seshadri, and top hotels including Hyatt, Pullman, The Residency, and GRT. There are plenty of dining options, both vegetarian and non-vegetarian, such as Saravana Bhavan, Sangeetha, and Geetham. The Lord Balaji Temple, considered second only to Tirupati in daily visitors, is also very close to the building.

What eco-friendly elements are included in the Radhe Shyam project?

Though we have not gone for a formal green building certification, we have made a conscious effort to use ecofriendly materials wherever possible. For example, instead of traditional red bricks, we have used AAC (autoclaved aerated concrete) blocks.

These are considered a green building material, made from fly ash and gypsum, and they use only about three percent cement. We also use adhesives for better bonding, which reduces wastage. In addition, we have used system aluminum, which is another recognized green building material. So, wherever possible, we have chosen materials that are better for the environment.
