Aakar means ‘form,’ and Karigar means ‘the one who shapes’ - together forming Aakarigari, which stands for craftsmanship and creative perfection. The brand represents the art of shaping spaces with purpose, blending aesthetics and practicality in every detail. In just a few years, this firm has evolved into a design studio known for its balance of artistry, innovation, and thoughtful execution.

Aakarigari was born from Kalyani’s vision to create spaces that speak to both function and feeling. Since its inception, the firm has made its mark in commercial interiors, particularly in jewellery and retail store design. The firm’s portfolio spans from compact 500 sq. ft. offices to large-scale 10,000 sq. ft. commercial projects, alongside a few exclusive residential works. With a strong foundation in design systems and client collaboration, Aakarigari aims to design and deliver over 100 jewellery stores across India, strengthening its footprint as a trusted name in the commercial design sector.
Kalyani emphasizes that Aakarigari’s strength lies in its structure and teamwork. Despite a limited budget and poor initial site conditions, the team approached the challenge with determination and creative thinking.
After three months of hard work, the result was a complete transformation. The once-damaged property turned into a fresh, stylish, and functional space, earning appreciation from everyone who visited. This project demonstrated Aakarigari’s ability to deliver high-quality design solutions even within tight constraints. It became a moment of pride for the team and reinforced their confidence in taking on complex renovation work.
Though still young, Aakarigari’s efforts have received attention in local publications, and recognition continues to grow. The firm is now expanding into resort and Airbnb design, and has plans to enter the international market soon. With a vision to grow a team of 50 designers, this firm is moving toward a future where creativity, precision, and innovation remain at the core of its identity.
